- Trails form by use not design
- Trails evolve organically based on usage (exceptions for specific conditions like slope erosion, etc.)
- Natural forms
- Trees are not happy when mushroomed. Fallen branches are retained because they form protective shade and lodging for all different kinds of critters. Avoid cutting what is not understood fully…form is spirit, function is ineffable
- Respect for the dark
- Artificial light is never added that will disturb the view of night sky and the activities of nocturnal creatures
- Always open
- Avoid limits on hours of occupancy
